Blogmas Day 20: The Perfect Hostess (Part 3)

Friday, December 20, 2013

Hello once again my dears, and welcome to the third and final part of today's Blogmas!

This time it's all about YOU! What to wear, the make up, the hair, EVERYTHING!

Starting off with what to dress, I've selected 4 different ones, so all of you have one to chose!

The first one is a beautiful emerald green structured dress with an embellished collar by H&M
Right beside it, it's a beautiful body con LBD, with a sweet heart neckline by House of Fraser
The third dress is for the sweet ones, a Dorothy Perkins red dress, with a flattering skirt and fitted top. The beautiful red color will suit any skin tone! It also comes with an elegant thin beige belt, so you don't have to worry about it!
The last, but surely not least, is an embroidered floral cocktail dress by Farfetch. It's just beautiful and elegant. Whoever wears it will surely feel like a queen!

But what is a great dress without a great pair of shoes, right? I also picked 4 pairs of shoes that would go beautifully with these dresses!
The first pair are some simple velvet ankle strap stilettos. The velvet will contrast with the structured look of the dress, giving the look some softness. These shoes are by Rihanna for River Island.
The second pair, by Michael Kors, has a thicker platform on the front and a thicker heel when compared to the 1st pair. Also, the thick T strap in the center makes it more sturdy. It pairs perfectly with the second dress, don't you think?
The next pair is a beautiful champagne, sparkly shoe by Kurt Geiger. It looks beautiful with that red sweet dress, adding a romantic feel to it.
Finally, the fourth pair is a simple nude shoe by Guess, to compliment the embroidery of the fourth dress. With a dress elaborated like that, you don't want to do too much else where, so nude pumps are the best way to go!

Dress and shoes are out of our minds, so what's missing? Hair and makeup! Honestly, any kind of hair style would look great with those dresses, but if you want to let your face stand out, opt for up-do's. A simple sleek ponytail or a sock bun are great and fast ways to get your hair out of the way!
When it comes to makeup, it's not that fast, but it's easy as well.

Making sure everything looks perfect and polished is key when you're hosting a party. No one really needs to notice you worked super hard! Just look heavenly and every guest will wonder how you did it!
Getting a silky smooth face is essential. I chose Nars Sheer Glow foundation to even out the skin, Dior Diorskin Nude Compact Radiant Powder foundation to set it and Bobbi Brown's Concealer kit to perfect the skin.
To bring back some life into your face, swipe a beautiful mauve-y pink blush, some contour and highlight. The trio I chose is from Lancôme.
For eyes, it's better to keep it simple and clean, even tho you can make a great muted smoky eye with the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. To keep it soft, don't use black eye liner. I chose Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Eyeliner in Strong Willed. For mascara, you can't go wrong with Giorgio Armani "Eyes to Kill", for length and volume.
You need to keep your lips moisturized, since you'll be talking all day/night, so Dior's Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm is a great option if you don't want to worry about chapped lips. Also, you need a lipstick that you can easily re-apply, without needing a mirror. Dior is my choice again. The Diorific in Etoile, a nude-ish pink lipstick, will do the job pretty well!

So here's everything! What did you think of today's blogposts? Will you host any Christmas party? Let me know on the comments bellow!
