The everyday basics- Makeup
Sunday, June 22, 2014Starting off with the foundation, you want to chose something that will not look cake-y or too unnatural on the skin, therefore, something like Nars Sheer Glow foundation. Keep in mind this foundation is good for people with dry to normal skin! But, if you have oily skin or acne prone skin, the Nars Sheer Matte foundation is the one for you!
Either way, you will want to buff your foundation in with a nice foundation brush, like the Real Techiniques Expert Face Brush , and you don't want to powder your face. I know this might sound odd if you have oily skin, but for a daily look, use blotting sheets instead of powder. Your skin is meant to look natural, not completely matte. For your concealer, under your eyes and on any imperfection you may have, dab on some Benefit Erase Paste on your skin, making sure to smooth it out with your finger. The hear from your finger will help blend it and make it last longer and look more natural.
Still on the face area, a nice rosy, multidimensional blush is the way to go, something with a bit of shimmer but not way too much, so I recommend the Benefit Hervana blush, which has 4 different shades in it, so you can pick which one you like or swirl them all together with the Real Techniques Blush Brush or with the fluffier side of H&M's Foundation and Blush brush if you want a more precise application of your blush. You can also use that brush (the stiffer foundation side) to smooth out the Benefit High Beam Highlighter, on the top of your cheekbones, tip of your nose and cupids-bow.
Moving on to the eyes, you don't really need a lot for an everyday look, so using a creme eye shadow, like Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze will give you a long lasting pigment in a soft bronze-y color. However, you need to give dimension to your eyes, which can be done easily by using L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Sahara Treasure light on your lid, concentrating on the tear duct, to open up your eyes, with the Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu Large Shadow Brush. To further open up your eyes, curl your lashes with the Tweezerman ProCurl Eyelash Curler and coat your lashes with the Benefit They're Real! Mascara.
This step is optional, but if you want some more definition and got eye liner skills, do a thin line on your top lash line with the L'Oreal Infallible Super Slim Liner.
To finish off, make your lips baby soft with a moisturizing lip balm, like the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm.
And that's it! That's all you need to enhance your natural beauty and still look like yourself!
